Another week over – another week of working hard.  Well done Puffins!

This week, in maths, we have been looking at the multiplication symbol ‘x’ and also looking at making equal groups.  We have made a story map in English and used it to orally retell the story.  We then used the map to retell the story in our own words.  We used some lovely adjectives in our writing this week too.  In computing this week we were learning how to change the font, size and colour of the text.  This was so much fun.  We talked about how to keep our money safe in PSHE and design new money boxes.

In history we were introduced to Bessie Coleman and found out that she was the first woman of colour to get an international pilot’s licence.  We learned all about prejudice and talked about the prejudice that Bessie faced.  In art we looked at the work of artist Jasper Johns and his use of primary colours and numbers.  We talked about how he chose numbers so that he didn’t have to think about what he was painting and concentrate more on exploring colours and brush strokes.  We also had PE with Sam which was so much fun.

Big Maths promotions this week go to ELISE and CONNIE – Well done.

STAR OF THE WEEK this week went to EMILY B – she has been doing really well in her maths as well as following Embleton Expects.

Have a nice weekend.
